DAI Speaks On Supporting Young Entrepreneurs at Workforce Development Conference

Lara Goldmark, DAI’s Technical Area Manager for Private Sector Development, and Marwan Juma, a DAI Board Member and former chairman of the Young Arab Leaders Organization, are speaking on a panel about innovative funding mechanisms to support youth entrepreneurs on the opening day of the 2012 Global Youth Economic Opportunities Conference, September 11-13, at the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, D.C.

The 2012 conference, put on by Making Cents International, focuses on workforce development; adolescent girls and young women; financial services and financial capabilities; monitoring, evaluation, and impact assessment; and youth enterprise development.

In addition to speaking about incentivizing young people, Goldmark will be referencing solutions from DAI’s upcoming Developing Alternatives journal, The Jobs Challenge: Fresh Perspectives on the Global Employment Crisis.

The Global Youth Economic Opportunities Conference, expected to host more than 400 attendees, is an annual global conference on increasing economic opportunities for young people. This year’s conference showcases 60 sessions and 120 speakers from 25 countries with a special crosscutting spotlight on technology.
