The Clima East program worked with the countries of the ENP East region—Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine to help integrate the countries’ climate strategies, mitigation plans, and adaptation approaches with activities carried out across the region. The program was part of a larger Clima East package that supported the development of ecosystems-based approaches to changes in climate.

Türkiye’s water sector faces mounting pressures due to population growth, climate change, and increased pollution from agricultural, domestic, and industrial sources. With 25 hydrological basins and limited economically usable water resources, the country is on track to become water-stressed beyond 2030 if current trends continue.
