Since 2016, DAI has been a trusted partner for Kosmos Energy, adapting and implementing the Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC) model in various countries of operation. Drawing from the successes and lessons of previous initiatives in Ghana and Mauritania, DAI has designed and launched a new KIC program tailored to meet the unique needs of communities in Senegal.
This program, rooted in a comprehensive community needs assessment, reflects Kosmos Energy’s commitment to fostering economic diversification, advancing climate solutions, and empowering women and youth. By supporting local innovation and entrepreneurship, KIC Senegal aims to create lasting positive impacts while reinforcing Kosmos’ social license to operate.
The Kosmos Innovation Center in Saint Louis focuses initially on Langue de Barbarie, providing aspiring female and young entrepreneurs with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive. This program is designed to help participants at the ideation stage explore entrepreneurial opportunities and develop the skills necessary to launch successful ventures.
Beyond Saint Louis, the KIC Senegal program extends its reach through national-level initiatives that further develop entrepreneurial skills and strengthen business networks.
KIC Senegal builds on DAI’s long-standing expertise and Kosmos Energy’s vision of empowering communities through entrepreneurship. By fostering local innovation, the program is unlocking opportunities for young people and women, catalyzing economic growth, and driving sustainable development in Senegal.
