Richard Rapier for 15 years has worked in domestic and international programs addressing water security, sanitation, and hygiene (WSSH), water and waste resource management, and environmental and social impact assessment and management in infrastructure. He has engaged in depth with regional and national water institutions across sub-Saharan Africa on behalf of the U.S. Government and development organizations. Rich’s technical leadership is built on more than a decade of managing and advising complex international projects, including through technical assistance, capacity building, and program and project development activities with host-country governments. In the United States, he has successfully managed complex development programs and teams while serving state, national, and private sector organizations. He previously worked as Senior Manager and Practice Manager for the International Resources Group’s (IRG) Water, Climate, and Natural Resources practices. Before IRG, he worked for the Millennium Challenge Corporation’s Infrastructure, Environment, and Private Sector Division.
